Abstract

This paper presents the architecture of a cross-platform and multi-agent system that offer personalised and location based services for airport passengers. In order to provide enhanced services, this work utilises recent technological advances in distributed software engineering, in-door software based positioning technology, heterogeneous wireless networks and multi-platform hand-held equipments. The work of this paper is based on a prototype implementation and evaluation of the system deployed in Athens International Airport, a main application of IST ADAMANT Project1. Aspects addressed are the requirements, the high-level system design and the functionality of the components. Indicative benefits are presented and concluding remarks are made.
