Abstract

A major objective in the evolution from 3G to 4G is the ability to seamlessly integrate different existing wireless access technologies in a common flexible and expandable platform. In current commercial wireless communication networks the service providers mediate between users and different network operators, so the service providers and network operators both can be candidates for managing integration of heterogeneous networks. This paper analysis the merits and shortcomings of the two approaches in terms of the technical and business point of view, and present our solution.
