Abstract

Crowdsourcing is a powerful technique that harnesses distributed intelligence to solve organizational problems. As a distributed network, crowdsourcing's strength comes from how information is transmitted to and from an organization that identifies a problem to be solved or an issue to be addressed to the crowd members who provide solutions or ideas. Here, the authors critically review the latest developments in crowdsourcing in China. As crowdsourcing gains momentum, information technology professionals should realize the challenges and opportunities arising from Chinese crowdsourcing.
