Inquiry-Based Education Technological Application Model in Distance Learning

Abstract

The teaching strategy has been continuously improved, and the traditional direct teaching method has gradually shifted towards student-centered learning method, which place the focus of the classroom on the student. Inquiry based learning is one of the approaches in student-centered learning, which could be divided into 5 phases: Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration and Evaluation. Students construct their knowledge by repeating these five steps through conducting experiments, observation and making hypotheses. This paper proposed methods to combine technology with different innovative approaches at each phase in inquiry-based learning to facilitate the teaching and learning process in the lesson.
