Abstract

The emergence of new technologies has revolutionised the field of linguistics, enabling new pedagogical perspectives to be incorporated into traditional classroom-based vocabulary instruction. This book aims to explore the potential for technology-enhanced vocabulary learning (TEVL) and to provide empirical and theoretical foundations to inform the design and implementation of effective vocabulary learning interventions in the digital age. First, we explore the role of vocabulary learning in the context of digital learning. Second, we focus on the complexities involved in vocabulary research. Third, through in-depth investigations, we aim to uncover strategies and techniques that harness the full potential of technology for vocabulary learning. Finally, we suggest future directions or agendas for TEVL scholars seeking to optimise vocabulary learning experiences in digital environments.
