Abstract
With the rise of cloud computing, reversible data hiding in encrypted images (RDHEI) has become a hot topic, and many RDHEI methods have been proposed in recent years. However, the embedding capacity of these previous RDHEI methods may yield low values. Therefore, this paper is dedicated to doing some work in improving the embedding capacity of RDHEI. To achieve this, a new RDHEI scheme based on adaptive block compression (ABC) is proposed in this paper. In the proposed scheme, we use partial bit planes of the original image to form blocks with redundancy, and then, in ABC, different approaches are designed to compress each block according to its degree of redundancy. Finally, a large space can be vacated to accommodate secret data. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme has advantages over existing methods in improving the embedding capacity and achieves higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) value when the embedding capacity is the same.
