Thus, it highlights the topographical and artistic sites that preserve the memory of Luís de Camões in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR). Initially, it seeks to trace the construction of Camões’s possible relationships with Macau, identifying biographical inconsistencies and uncertainties with the city’s landscape and various elements commemorating the poet’s presence. This geographic memory is closely tied to a significant literary legacy, highlighting Macau authors and texts that, either poetically or fictionally, drew inspiration from the poet’s presence. The mythical dimension acquired by Camões in some of this literary production is another aspect that reveals the lasting impact of his presence on the region’s cultural imagination.
