Factors Influencing the Utilization of Northbound Travel for Macao Vehicles Among Macao Residents

研究成果: Article同行評審

摘要

This research examines the key factors that impact Macao residents’ acceptance of the Northbound Travel for Macao Vehicles Program, using the extended theory of planned behavior. An analysis was conducted on data collected from 267 residents. Findings revealed that the perception of Guangdong Province as a destination significantly influenced individuals’ travel attitude and subjective norms, as well as their perceived behavior control. Additionally, both their perceived behavior control and perceived ease of use of the program significantly influenced individuals’ travel behavior. However, attitude toward travel and subjective norms did not demonstrate a significant effect on individuals’ travel behavior. This suggests a limited applicability of the planned behavior theory in this context. Additionally, the study highlights the essential role of government in promoting cross-border travel using private vehicles.
