Polar-Coded Faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) Signaling with Adaptive Decision Feedback Equalization

摘要

Faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling system has higher throughput and capacity. However, employing non-orthogonal transmission will inevitably introduce inter-symbol interference (ISI). In order to obtain ideal performance, receiver equalization alone is insufficient. Thus, this paper proposes a polar coding scheme applied to the FTN signaling system, employing the successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding algorithm and adaptive least mean square decision feedback equalization (LMSDFE) to decode and detect the received signal. The simulation results show that the proposed polar-coded FTN signaling system with LMS-DFE (FTN-LMS-DFE) has a lower bit error rate (BER) and higher reliability than the uncoded FTN-LMS-DFE.
