Pronunciation and Linguistic Variation in Portuguese as an Additional Language: A Didactic Sequence with Digital (Audio)Literature

研究成果: Article同行評審

摘要

This article presents a proposal for a didactic sequence for teaching Portuguese as an Additional Language to B1 language level learners, combining four features: pronunciation instruction, awareness of the pluricentricity of Portuguese, the use of literary texts, and the application of digital audiobooks. First, the theoretical propositions that support the four features are summarized (e.g. Castelo, 2025; Costa, 2021; Ramon, 2022; Sekscinska & Olszanska, 2018). Then, the didactic sequence is presented and the choices made are justified based on the previous theoretical propositions. This sequence focuses on developing the contrasts [e]/[ɛ] and [o]/[ɔ], as well as exposing learners to the national varieties of European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. In addition, it includes strategies for exploring literary texts in audiobook format, combining linguistic input, controlled and spontaneous oral production, and feedback. The study emphasizes the importance of digital technology in language teaching and suggests the implementation of this approach to promote phonological competence and the appreciation of linguistic diversity.
