abstract = "Cross-border cooperation has become the global and regional trend. However, varied construction standards among different countries and regions hindered the regional cooperation. How to reduce the standard conflict and tension in cross-border construction has been a great challenge. This article discusses the issue of standard convergence in cross-border projects through examining the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It then summarizes four strategies for standard convergence based on the construction project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. A series of strategies have been recommended, such as adopting the higher and more complex standards among regions relative to the lower and simpler ones. The authors hope this study will help scholars and policymakers who are involved in cross-border projects.",
