The Impact of Age, Gender, Academic Achievement, and Parent-Child Relationship on Good Parenting Perceptions in the AI Era: A Comparison between Post-10 and Post-00 Cohorts

摘要

As technological advancements reshape our world, the definition of effective parenting continues to evolve. This research delves into the shifting paradigms of parenting in the digital age, examining the influences of age, gender, academic success, and family dynamics on parenting views among individuals born after 2010 ('Post-10') and those born after 2000 ('Post-00'). Employing online surveys, the study collected 477 responses and employed ANOVA and linear regression analyses to dissect the data. Findings reveal distinct variances in parenting perspectives between the Post-10 and Post-00 groups, particularly in the Microsystem and Mesosystem layers of their environments. The Post-10 group reported greater contentment with their parents' approaches compared to the Post-00 group. However, both groups showed similar sentiments in the broader societal and community contexts (Exosystem and Macrosystem). The study also underscores that while age, academic performance, and familial bonds significantly shape parental perceptions for both cohorts, gender remains a non-influential factor. This investigation enriches our understanding of the intricate interplay between societal evolution and parenting ideologies, providing a foundation for developing tailored support for contemporary families.
